Vinyl Chloride Vinyl Acetate Resin, also known as chloroacetate resin, abbreviated as PVVA. The vinyl chloride (VC) segment is mainly composed of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate (VAc), and a small amount of the third or fourth monomer is added to prepare a multi-component modified copolymer, collectively referred to as a chloroacetic acid copolymer.

Due to its excellent internal plasticization and low melting temperature, Vinyl Chloride and Vinyl Acetate Copolymers Resins is widely used in floor tiles, card base sheets, coatings, inks, adhesives and other fields. PVVA resin is one of the most important varieties of vinyl chloride copolymer, and its consumption accounts for more than 50% of the total amount of vinyl chloride copolymer. PVVA resin is classified according to its synthesis method, such as suspension polymerization method, emulsion polymerization method and solution polymerization method. According to the monomer composition of the resin, there is a quaternary or multi-component copolymer product.

Compared with PVC homopolymer resin, PVVA copolymer resin is embedded in the molecular structure of VAc, changing from a uniform segment to a copolymer segment, as shown in the following formula:

The close packing of the VC segment was destroyed, weakening the polarity of the PVC polymer and reducing the force between the molecules. The PVVA copolymer resin macromolecule has an amorphous structure, which enlarges the distance between the polymer chains and thereby increases the flexibility of the molecule. Therefore, the PVVA copolymer resin maintains the strength of the PVC resin and improves the performance of the PVC from the internal plasticization, which can be adapted to some special purposes. Mainly reflected in PVVA copolymer resin has a lower melting temperature than PVC homopolymer resin of similar molecular weight, which improves the processing performance; at the same time, it improves the impact resistance and transparency of the product, but the heat resistance decreases.
